Transpaco Flexibles is proud to announce two wins and a placement at The Flexographic Technical Association of South Africa (FTASA) Flexographic Print Excellence Awards 2011, which were held on 15 November 2011 in Johannesburg.

The association aims to raise standards and showcase advances in the flexo printing industry for the Packaging Industry. FTASA commented this year on the high standard of entries. Transpaco Flexibles received two gold awards and a finalist placement at this year’s ceremony, in the following categories:

1. Flexible packaging over 500mm – line/tone

Gold Award: Transpaco Flexibles for its Love SA Naartjie submission, printed on a Carint press using inks supplied by Hi-Tech Inks. This seven-colour job with good ink laydown and spot-on registration impressed the judges.

Finalist: Transpaco Flexibles for its University of Johannesburg Be Anything You Want submission, printed on a Carint press using inks supplied by Hi-Tech Inks.

2. Flexible packaging over 500mm – process

Gold Award: Transpaco Flexibles for its Tupperware submission, printed on a Carint press using inks supplied by Siegwerk. This relatively simple-looking job that runs at high speed on a 1 240mm-wide press impressed the judges. Their positive comments included good laydown of the spot colour.

As Gold winners, Transpaco Flexibles will be entered in the FTA 2012 Excellence in Flexography Awards in the United States, where South African printers have been recognised for their flexo printing capabilities.

Transpaco Flexibles is the largest division within the Transpaco group, and operates from four different manufacturing sites in South Africa. Transpaco Flexibles specialises in in the manufacture and supply of flexible packaging and plastic bags for the retail, industrial, agricultural, stationery and food industries.
